ResearchComputeAU & Indie Atlas v1.4

Australian Capital Territory

Australian National University

ANU is in Canberra, next door to the national supercomputer Gadi, but Gadi is run by NCI for the whole country. This guide did not verify a separate ANU campus cluster with a public name. ANU researchers apply to NCI like everyone else, and should ask the university what local test machines exist.

How to get a machine

  1. Email the university research office and ask what the local cluster is called, and who may use it.
  2. While you wait, open the Nectar eligibility checker and request a small project with your university login.
  3. Use Kaggle the same day if you need a GPU or a quick test of a script.
  4. Look at NCMAS only if the job is far too big for a single campus machine. The 2027 round is closed.

Nectar

Nectar local-member status was not on the list captured for this guide. A national allocation may still be possible.

Check before you rely on this

  • A student competition cluster sometimes appears in search results under the name ANU HPC. That is not the university’s research service, and it is not listed here as one.
  • Nectar local-member status for ANU was not on the eligibility list captured for this guide.
