Independent researcher
You can do real research computing without a university email. The machines that say yes are the free notebook sites, a handful of company and research-cloud programs, and hourly rentals. The national supercomputers usually need a lead investigator at an Australian university or research agency.
How to get it
- Open Kaggle today. GPU for models, CPU for R and ordinary Python.
- If the work is machine learning you will publish, express interest in Google TPU Research Cloud.
- If you have a company, read Founders Hub, NVIDIA Inception, and CSIRO Kick-Start before you assume you qualify.
- Rent an hour only for the gap. The national supercomputers usually need a university or agency lead.
